Hi everyone,
It's great to be here.
Newbie question:
When bouncing down to stereo tracks, how can the tracks be identified from the other tracks when viewing the contents of the memory card in the PC's file explorer?
Thanks for your patience.

Welcome to the forum. Files are timestamped, so the latest ones should be the bounce assuming that was the last thing you did. If not, it's difficult to equate zz files in the song folder to individual tracks as those files are not meant to be used outside the machine. The official way of converting tracks into a form suitable for other systems is to use the 'export' function.

TBH, I'm afraid to tell you because it could possible lead to a whole chain of bad events. The "zz" files are fragments and not assembled. If you accidently alter or delete any of those files you could potentially lose the entire song. They are of no practical use to the user.

The short answer to your question is:

The only way to get something out of the DP machine is to either export tracks or do a mixdown and/or/ master operation.

Please read the manual about using the Audio Depot.

There are also Sticky Threads we have created to organize information like this. The first 2 links cover what you need.

If you suffer from the modern aversion to reading, here is a video explaining all about importing and exporting.

Thanks Phil, that's very useful indeed.

@Rooby Roo those Sticky Threads are a goldmine. There are some tried and true production techniques for using the DP machines that were developed by recording engineers. Have fun leaning the machine while you make music.
