Hello. I have my dm4800 working with the new version of SO but for some reason, the play rewind and record function isn't working. Mtc isn't sending. I have control of the faders. I've set up control extender for channels 5-7 and that's working the faders. I've set up a control for channel 3 but it's not working for control of play button. I've been trying to get it working and can't seem to find a solution anywhere. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

On the MACHINE CNTRL setup screen on the DM, are you sure you have TRA (transport) option chosen?

Yes. I have that chosen. The only way the transport will light up is if I put the supported device a on mtc generate or mmc open. Not sure why it isn't functioning. I followed instructions from another post pertaining to this matter that I think you wrote up saying to send mtc on channel 3.

So I've spent the majority of today working on this issue and only thing I've come up with is setting it up through the hui like you would on pro tools. Everything works perfect on it except the clock on the meter bridge. Tried setting it up on different control and control extenders but l was getting the same result. I would like for the clock to work on the meter bridge but if not I can live without it.

Update:

So I finally got everything sorted out...actually I had it working a couple days after my last post but just wanted to post what I did to get it functioning properly.

Not sure why but on my dm4800, in S1..I could use the control extender for my fader control but for some reason when I used it in that way it change volume by using automation layer. Strange . I was never able to get the control to work on mtc by adding control through port 3. Wouldn't do anything.

What finally worked was this: I used the hui24 in dm4800 and that have me control over the whole board and machine control to the transport. Added hui on S1 On ports 5-7 and then grouped them and voila....perfect sync. One thing that was elusive was meter bridge time code unfortunately.

I read on blog site that spoke about mtc and how to do it with different daws and for S1 it referred to having an instument time code. I added one of those for port 3 and enabled mtc on it and voila....time code is working on the meter bridge. Not sure why my system is different but that's the why mine worked.

Not sure if the terms I'm using are correct but I'm just posting an update just in case anyone has an issue like mine they can try this!
