TASCAM-MX2424
I just purchased an MX-2424 for my work in community theatre theatrical sound. I am currently designing the theatre space to be used on 10/31/2024 for a re-enactment performance of Orson Welles 1938 Radio Play Dracula. This is our third time in four years for this performance. I am working on some simple surround sound designs using the 2424 as playback for the surround portion. I did not purchase the RC-2424 which will come sometime after October. But what I could use is a copy of MXView. Very elusive to find. Any help? If it's available for Mac is preferred... but Windows 10 would be okay.

I think there are still downloads of the MXView software available on the Tascam legacy product page. You should be aware, though, that MXView is a very old application and only runs on OS 9 on the Mac, it won't run under Mac OS X or beyond at all. The PC version can run on Windows XP, but I haven't tried anything newer than that. I keep a Power Mac G4 around for MXView and for backing up SCSI drives. Got any vintage computers sitting around that you can bring back into service?

Hope this helps,
David

If you let me have your email address I can send you Mx view for windows & also a previously installed copy. the previoulsy installed copy is useful if you want it to run on anything after windows XP.

Hi TheDogMeister,

If you are wanting to use the MX2424 in your theatre productions, the "Theatre Play" mode should come in real handy.

If you already haven't found this mode, look at the reply I just posted to the "MX2424 as Player" thread for more info!

Kind regards,
Jeffrey Bruton
