CODEC ERROR - PWR OFF

I need some help. Just got a Tascam Model 12 (used). When I installed the SanDisk card and powered it up, I got a CODEC ERROR - PWR OFF message. I removed the card, and got the same message.

I googled it first of course, and it directed me to this forum. I hate to be a bother, but if someone really help I would appreciate it. I’m new to this forum and Tascam, so maybe someone has run into this issue before?

I tried another card and it worked. Both were SanDisk, which I heard were a-ok for the Tascam recorders. Thanks for the link.

@DavidT the only sandisk cards found to be reliable in the long term are those that have been tested/approved by TASCAM (for additional information, see the warning in your OM; and the forum sticky threads).

Also, confirm the unit has the most current firmware installed.
