Hey guys,

Any suggestions for a good/solid FW card as companion for the IF-FW/DMMKII ??
My mobo: ASUS P9X79 PRO
CPU: Intel Core i7-3930K Hexa-Core Processor 3.2 Ghz 12 MB Cache LGA 2011 - BX80619I73930K
Memory: Corsair Vengeance White 16 GB (2x4GB)
OS: Win7 Pro 64bit
Etc etc
All suggestions are welcome

Thanks man.
I'll order one asap. (Hopefully it won't be difficult to find)

Oh yeah, any word on the cable to be used?
What could be a reasonable and workable lenght (not too close, possible to an ISO booth or so)
as well as the cable quality........any suggestions?

The Allegro has 3-FW800 ports only so you will need a FW400 to FW800 cable. Get a good one and no longer than you really need it to be. Longer cables can work, but can also be problematic so you would need to test it with your setup. Most Firewire cable for audio is not suggested or often even tested past 15'

Granite Digital cables have been suggested by many in the past. Any brand should work fine but cables with good heavy shielding and thick casings are desired as well as the electrical specs as they help with overall cable stress such as connecting, flexing and bending when used over time.

Ok my man thanks. I'm checking their website now. I've ordered one from B&H in New York.
It's a Pearstone PECFW9610 FireWire 400 9-Pin to 6-Pin Cable - 10' (3 m).
Hope that works. Good reviews, but one said it's a bit too stiff, could be more flex in his opinion.
Anyway I'll get a second one from granite digital. It's good to have a spare one.
