Tascam 644Midistudio Can't Play

hey guys, i recently picked a 644 midistudio. it can rewind and Fast fwd but cant play or record. whenever i press play, it enggaged something but cant produce any sound.
I test with a cassette that have music in it. Is it the motor or the cassette .

I'm no rocket surgeon...but a common diagnostic effort includes "process of elimination" - meaning if you suspect the cassette is causing the problem, you test the function with OTHER cassettes - as many as possible - until you confirm or eliminate that possibility.

As mentioned - I'm no "tech" - but if the motor is turning, it's far more likely that the problem is in transport/control area. You may want to consider having it professionally evaluated.

thanks for the reply ...turns out the motor kinda worn out ..... it finally di make a sound but it only last like 2 sec)
any idea where can i get motor replacement? thanks

Yup. Sounds like you either need to find a tech - or BE one. It’s possible searching the forum may get you some answers, as surely many have had your problem already. But if traffic is low, you’re not going to get direct replies. Good luck-
