Hi there,

so this is a not so uncommon task I think - but the only result I got while trying was a big, fat, nasty feedback loop still ringing in my ears...so I'd rather ask this here before damaging anything...

OK, so what I do want is to record what I hear in my DAW. What do I hear? The output from my PC (mediaplayer, you tube etc.). So I got channels 15/16 of my DM3200 as my PC-Master-Out - input = input slots 1-1, 1-2.

Is there a way to record what I hear there to my DAW? I tried to think it over, but this is giving me knots in my head, because it should result in a feedback normally (which it does) but then I thought: hey, maybe there is a routing option in the digital domain that prevents from it? I hope I could state myself clearly: The Dm3200 acting as my soundcard is set to my PC, and I'd like to record what I hear from my PC directly into my DAW.

Thanks for any input on this - say 'no' to feedback-loops,
regards
snafu

You don't mention what DAW you use, but it is there where you will have to kill record monitoring. I.A.W., the DAW should be set so, that it does NOT output what is being recorded.

Hey Arjan,

thanks for your reply! So, I've been looking at the wrong end? Well, I use Samplitude Pro X 3 Suite - I should get around to this; I think, I should not think of the DM3200 so much as a "sound card" for I always forget about that some magic also happens in the DAW or PC. Since I'm so much spoiled by the DM and it's many possibilities, I hardly touch anything anywhere else^^
Thanks for your hint, I will report back an give a in depth description upon success - maybe some other Samplitude users live on that planet :)
