Need Help

Something weird happens with my DM-4800. Board was not used for about two months and yesterday I turned it on and all my routing settings are gone. No Sound at all. Dead. Firewire is OK, connections are OK. I did all M/L 1-24, Output M/L 1-24 and still no sound. I have Sound incoming to the board, but no sound from the Mac
(Playback) in the board. PT,SO,Cubase no sound, had only crackled sound in Logic X, the rest had no sound at all. Battery is OK. Any Clue what happened??? Anything worked perfect two months ago.

If the battery is ok, it's not likely that you lost your saved settings from that. I don't know whether or not the mixer was plugged in, but another possible cause is transients, or worst of all, lightening spikes on the power line. Even when unplugged, a lightning strike nearby can damage semiconductors with such strong electrostatic fields. If that or power line transients are the cause, let's hope only the configuration was lost and that all the circuitry survived.

Presuming the hardware's fine, have you saved any projects on the Compact Flash card? Or did you save any on your computer using TM Companion? Everything, including routing, is included in a project. Having backups is always advised and more than one is a great idea.

The routing in this mixer is initially difficult to understand, but once you wrap your mind about it, you realize how extremely powerful it is. But if you set up the initial routing and have never changed it, it can be confusing and might just be the routing that has gotten messed up . So, make sure that part is correct before you suspect any kind of circuitry problem.

All the Gear is on balanced power with Furman and Monster power protection. It is the routing
cards are ok. can you help me getting my DM running?? I tried to fix it in the routing but think I did something wrong in the output and/or output slot.

Can someone help me to assign output on buss and then set control room output to AUX 1-2.
Capt.Dan helped me setting my DM4800 up and now all settings are gone.
