Hello everybody,

I bought a X-48MKII48 track recorder and want to connect this to my DM-4800. Does somebody knows what will be the best option to use so that I can put my mixes direct to the 48 track machine? The X-48MK has tdif cards and analog cards.

Is it also possible to control the X-48MK from my DM-4800.

Than you very much for your help.

Tejo

Hello @Tejo . TDIF is definitely an option. However, you probably already know that you would be limited to 24 tracks at a time via the three TDIF located at the back of the DM.

Hello Peter, thank you for your reply. Well it is clear that i have to use Tdif and that i am limited to 24 channels. It means that when i have a mix of 48 channels I have to devide them and record them in 2 steps. That will be not to complicated. I probably can decide what channel i send to the tdif.

@Tejo Those were my thoughts as well. 2-step approach. I also connect to my external daw via TDIF.

Hello Peter, what do you mean with I also connect with Tdif to my daw? I use my tdif to connect my digital gear and i use the firewire card to connect to my daw. I am curious how you connect to the daw.
