Like many here I had problems with the screen of my DM4800. The most efficient alternative to solve the problem was buy a 2seemy kit, which worked perfectly, however that screen with striping in the center of my mixer bothered me a lot, so I decided to look for an alternative that is more attractive and also be useful in some way:
What I have here is simply a 7" touch screen that is fed through two USB ports, as it works as an additional monitor of my mac I can put anything from my system and control by touch ... plugins, audio player .. . well, anything. I don´t removed the faulty screen, just pasted a black sticker over.
I have to say that this solution increased the "wow" effect by 1000%! LOL

I like your solution dimobr, very creative.
Not sure if a screen has to be connected for the desk to boot, but if it doesn't, how cool would that be? The heat inside the desk would go down, and the current demand on the p/s would go down.. The veritical vents just above the screen are for cooling the screen, so if you are not using the screen, I would try unplugging it if you have not already tried.

Best,

I didn´t get to test with disconnected screen, but disassemble the mixer again for just this is something that I currently do not have time. Perhaps more to the end of the year I disassemble it to clean, maybe I do the test.
