I have a dm4800 controlling the first 24 tracks of a presonus one project,
but the 10 mix group busses for 153 tracks I created are what I want to control. So I can mix with the faders at the console of the dm4800

Thanks for the reply, Peter. I stuck with it last night and found a way to mix the 10 busses. Now the DM4800 is an important part of the mixing process as I can use anything the DM has to offer. Presonus has a dual way to have single tracks grouped. 1. Busses can be made so that any or all tracks can be sent to those busses. That's where I was, and I kept them close to the last fader which is the main stereo out. It took a hundred or so individual tracks and let me submix them to ten busses, like the 50 or so tracks of drum parts are now 2 tracks, drums and toms.
The DM 4800 has no control of busses wherever you put them. So I put all of the rhythm tracks in a group folder, keys, bass and so on in their folders, sub-mixed each track individually until I only needed the volume of each folder. I moved all ten folder tracks which are called 'group tracks' to the front where the DM recognizes the first 24 tracks, through the 3 hui's I added, 'port 5, through 7', Port 5 being 1- 8, port 6 being 9 -16 and port 7 being 17-24, and sure enough the DM recognizes all ten group tracks with the first ten faders of the DM, I have control of the mix. In fact, I will now spread out the ten tracks to around twenty tracks and get even more control of the extremely loaded song. I'll be mixing without a mouse. I guess the most important aspect of mixing this way is my focus is entirely on sound. Multiply that times ten and I might finish this album one day. If anyone needs help with setting up the DM remote with presonus, its fresh on my mind... Oh by the way, I can mix back into presonus through the stereo outs of the DM.

@blane Lee Brilliant. Your persistence paid off in a big way by the sounds of it. I plan on reading your post a few things so that I might wrap my head around your workflow. Have you considered putting together a video tutorial of the setup. That would be very interesting indeed. Glad to hear that you sorted things out. Have a great evening / week.
