Why is there no sound from LINE OUT when a file is played via the file manager?

Please be more specific.
* List the relevant steps in the owner manual that you've performed already that haven't worked for you.
* To what are you connecting the X8.
* What kind of connecting cable are you using.

Then perhaps we'll be able to help.

I would like to use X8 for live performances.
In other words, I want to play a file as a loop from the file manager that I can play both via headphones and via the line out output. But unfortunately the sound can only be heard via the headphone output. the line out remains mute. Why is there a special setting for this?

If you can't tell me the steps in the owner manual that you've already tried without success, I have nowhere from which to start. Please address the 3 points in my post.

BTW, in 2021 you had a model 12, yes? Did you sell it?

This is the online reference manual for the X8. Please consult the information in chapters 4 , 8, 11, 12 and see if that helps. The term "file manager" is not in the X8 reference manual. To what are you referring?

I have already read through the manual several times and tested all the steps on the device several times.
In addition to my question, no sound comes out of the line out output in any configuration and application.
The only sound I have been able to hear so far is a short click when a channel is activated (red) or deactivated in the input configuration

Maybe there is a defect.

Is the Line Out totally silent when monitoring input signal or does it happen only when playing back files?
I would try resetting the unit to factory defaults as described in chapter 15-6.

This Block Diagram detail may be of help in troubleshooting. Several points to check before declaring the unit faulty IMO.

@Max Relic as the OP has said everything in the OM had been explored, and as there's signal on the headphone circuit but not apparently on the Line Out circuit, I suspect only 4 other possibilities in addition to those suggested by the Block Diagram or performing a factory reset:
* The X8 firmware is out of date (or partially corrupted);
* The cable connecting the X8 Line Out jack to the external device is defective;
* The input or output of the external device connected to the X8 is defective in some way (driver, software, setup, hardware)
* The X8 Line Out circuit is defective.

These further muddy the water:
The OP didn't address my questions about the external device and cabling to it; and the OP used the term "file manager" in describing the problem. That term doesn't appear anywhere in the X8 reference manual.

So I don't think there's anything more I can add to this thread, or any point in further speculation.

The OP has been MIA since post #7; so if the OP identifies and resolves the problem, perhaps the OP will come back and share that so others may benefit going forward.
