TASCAM FR-AV2 using timecode.

Will I’m at lost on what to try next. I have only had the TASCAM FR-AV2 for a little over a week. I mainly got it for the use of the timecode feature. At the same time I bought the Deity TC -1 for my Sony a7siii. First time out the box I got them to sync together without reading the instructions and had them sync only three times. Now they will not sync at all. Both are set to frame rate 23.98. I’ve tried making the TASCAM the master and the save and nothing works. Any suggestions before making the decision of a defective equipment.
