Tascam DP-006 backup format

Has anybody successfully reverse-engineered the format for DP-006 backup files (.001 extension)? I'd like to be able to extract the audio tracks from these files.

That’d be a kewl thing to be able to do (if all you had was a backup file, & no machine to restore it to). If you did, you’d simply restore the project, then export individual/desired trax for use elsewhere.

Your inquiry implies you do not…hopefully there IS a way…but - sadly - I don’t know it.

Hence reinforcing the ages-old (yet largely ignored) wisdom of maintaining good data-backup practices…
