Hi everyone,
I got a 688 and a 644 not too long ago. However, recording on the 644 works without problems. But as soon as I connect an istrument to the 688, there is a high pitched buzz. Both the 644 and 688 share the same power plug board (the instruments as well) and both machines have the same settings. It sounds like something electricity related. It's a crackling small band hiss at 2037 and an overtone around 4060 hz.
I remember having the same issues when I worked with an 8 track machine in the 90s. Anyone got a clue?
