Hey all I just got this tascam 1600 from Reverb that was listed as ‘in good working condition’ however the output volume is very low. It was definitely stored poorly as it is full of dust on the inside and you can see the layer of thick set on dust on face of the mixer from the spots the seller was too lazy to clean.
I’m currently using a mackie 1604 and if I don’t attenuate my eurorack signal I can only push it to like level 3-4 on my mixer or it would blow my speakers off. On this 1600 I can’t hear the straight signal from the rack unless I push the trim up and distort the signal so something definitely going on. Maybe bad solder joint on power pcb not allowing it to hit the output?
The power board is accessible so I can disconnect it and attach a pic if that helps.
Posting here for posterity as well, I’m working on getting in touch with a licensed tascam tech in MA here that could help resolve the issue. Will post any results for future reference.
Thanks
Evan
