Merry Christmas to you - you must be on the "Nice" list, to get a new '32 under your tree!
If you bump around the forum - even just this category - you'll find countless posts from people (usually new users) having problems that are immediately or eventually traceable to the SD card - either incompatible/inadequate, incorrect, or just bad. So you're very wise to consult the
"tested cards" list - you can't go wrong there.
Speaking for myself: I use SanDisk Extreme Pro exclusively - and have had ONE "file error" skroo-up in several years and hundreds of hours of studio-time. I have several of the U3/hi-speed cards, spedcifically only for the perceived better data-transfer speeds, as the DP operates on a nearly constant flow of data to/from the card...but I also have scads of the U1 version, and I'd suggest they work just as well/reliably.
RE - capacity: I never go above 32GB...and that holds a LOOOOT of projects. I'd imagine that the smaller the card, the quicker the time it takes for the DP to read/mount it. Frankly, the smaller capacities will probably work fine, and are a
little less costly...so you can have more of them. I use several cards to keep various types of projects sorted out...originals here, covers there, experimental another, one for testing/songwriting ideas, yada.
But no matter what you use: it doesn't diminish the need for a good backup protocol - just DO it, you'll be glad you did. Don't forget either that the DP has a wonderful capability of data transfer to/from a 'puter via USB, which can greatly enhance your ability to keep up with this.
Meanwhile: as mentioned in earlier post to you: the "Sticky Posts" at the top of this category are REQUIRED reading, if you want to get up to speed with your DP. Also strongly suggest
@Phil Tipping 's terrific videos.
Have fun!
