Hi all,
I've been attempting to remedy this issue myself, but I can't seem to find the root of the problem.
Recently replaced the capstan belt with a fresh belt, and swapped a burnt-out capstan motor with a working one on a 133 cassette deck. Now, when attempting to press PLAY, the playhead will move into position and then immediately move back down. No FF or RW either. I get the same behavior regardless if there is a tape in the chamber or not. Before the repair, the reel motor would spin attempting to FF/RW the tape. Now, the reel motor does not move. The only motion that occurs is from the playhead. I'm wondering whether or not this could be an issue with one of the sensors, or if it's likely something more mechanical.
I appreciate any help anyone is able to provide.
Thanks,
Jack
