DM3200 X48 Mk2
Has anyody syncro the x48mk2 with a dm3200 or a dm4800 with meter unit and works all?
Thanx!

Ok i can get syncro the 2 units with a rs422 cable (mx2424) cable, works perfect and mu1000 too.

I'm sorry. I did miss this post. The DM3200 and a X48 is a awesome combination. It is a full 96khz setup wich rocks right out the box.

Yes I have done it, works fine, transport and arm the X48 tracks record from the DM4800.
The RS422 wiring is (db9 male on each side) : 2 on 2, 3 on 3, 4 on 4, 6 on 6, 7 on 7 and 8 on 8.
shield ground is on 1 side only on pin 5.
I use 3 TDIF wires between DM4800 and X48.
then on the DM4800 you have to go to remote menu (alt + remote) then machine control, then you choose option 4 MM / MX24 / X48 in the right list.
In the STATE column at left, you must have the double arrows sign, select chase + transport. Under REC, choose 1-24 (I have not try others) and push enter and it's done.
on the X48, go to settings / Prefs and under Sony 9-pins choose track/arm = digital console.
note that in this config only the tracks 1 to 24 can be record armed.

I have a 2nd DM4800 in cascade, but it is not possible to arm tracks 25 to 48 from the 2nd DM, because the RS422 protocol supports only 1 master and several slaves, so it creates bugs with the X48 when the 2 DM are connected on the RS422 in parallel, sometime the control machine doesn't work or the timecode, but it's ok with only 1 DM connected to the X48. Also it is possible to arm tracks 25 to 48 using layer 2, but there is no TDIF output from these channels until using external TDIF cards or AES or other to the X48.
