SX-1 LE
Hello,

I am new to the forum and need some guidance about this Tascam unit. I live near the Chicago area and have a unit with the original manual, documentation and drive disk.
All of the motorized faders work flawlessly, the unit is spotless with a hard drive in the unit. However, I don't have the original box. I'm wondering what a fair price would be for it. Thanks guys.

Hi. Are you looking to sell it? I have been an SX-1 guy for a very long time. Those machines dropped in value and then have been going back up.

I myself have two left I am selling. they are great machines but there is no support for them now tfrom Tascam.

There is a Facebook Group for them as well.

I am from Chicago originally. Where are you in Chicago? I have copies of the software on CD if you need it.

Hi, sorry for the delayed response. I actually live an hour away in Dekalb. I got a copy of the system disk from TEAC but it wouldn't load properly. I found the original disk and loaded it successfully! When I bought it used, the guy I bought it from recorded on multiple tracks to prove it worked, but he removed the XLR each time to record a new pass on each track. that didn't make sense to me. I have the documentation binder with the instructions but am having trouble deciphering it. I know recording on it should be easy. I have considered selling it but it's very heavy and packing it would be expensive! Any thoughts?

He probably did that to show you each channel had input. A good thing to do.

When you get all set up and have let's say only 8 inputs actually plugged in.....you can record to any track without changing what is plugged in where.....

If you have an acoustic in channel 1...you can send the signal anywhere without changing the physical cable.
each new track gives you the option of where you want the signal coming from.
