Hello everyone,
I am new to this forum but not new to Tascam. I have a DP-01FX and just purchased and received a new DP-32SD. I also have a NOS in the box Roland VS-2480 I've never used since at the time I bought it I was using Cakewalk Pro and Motu interfaces which worked well together. My main studio is now equipped with a Presonus StudioLive Series III 32SX and Cubase 14. Formerly I was using Presonus Studio One professional but had a lot of trouble getting the Presonus 32SX mixer to work as a DAW controller with Studio One even though they are the same manufacturer. That forced me to first use the DP-01FX for songwriting, and then later to buy and use a Zoom R24 recorder. In the old days I used and was frustrated with ADATs and tape errors until I abandoned that format.
Now that Presonus have gone subscription software I have dumped them and gone to Cubase 14. The learning curve will be long and not wanting to wait for that I decided to continue with a stand alone easy to use recording deck to get some songwriting done. I cannot wait to crank the DP-32D and start recording some live instruments. I am also hopeful that transferring songs from the DP-32SD to the DAW via SD card or USB will be easy when I want to tweak and master them.
I look forward to learning this unit from all of you experienced users and apologize in advance if I ask dumb questions.
Barry
