Hello,

Files (.tl or in tape mode) backed up to PC in .bu format are not readable. What is the way to back up in .wav or bwf format ?
Is a SCSSI / PCIe card needed in my PC?

Hi Ittol,

You can access a MX-2424 SCSI recording drive on a PC and see all the files (WAV, TL, etc) by connecting the drive to your computer using a SCSI interface (card). Once you can see all the files on the drive, it is a simple matter to back them up to another drive.

I use the old Adaptec SCSI cards (which you can probably find on eBay).
Windows XP has the drivers for the Adaptec cards built in, as probably do some newer versions of Windows. I also use Debian Linux and it has the Adaptec drivers built in as well.

Good luck!

Kind regards,
Jeffrey Bruton
