Loud band clipping

I play in a rock band. Loud, of course. When I tried to record us (dr05x, in the center of the room) the levels were maxed out and it sounded very bad. I set the record level to the lowest level. Advise please.

If your band's SPL is too high to gain-trim down the '05 for its mics to accept, consider appropriate/suitable external mic/s.
