FR-AV2
Hi all,

I'm enjoying using this wonderful hand-sized recorder (FR-AV2) but can't find anything in the manual, or from a quick search in the TASCSAM FORUMS, explaining why Channel 1 is OFF when the Input is set to EXT.

I'm using a dual RCA to 3.5mm TRS plug cable from an Audio Interface into the Ext/TC In jack in the FR-AV2. On the main screen Channel 1 shows as "EXT OFF" and Channel 2 shows as "EXT --dB". Settings are all the same for both channels in all the menus.

Is there a FAQ about how to search the forums as it isn't intuitive to me.

And lastly, is there a FR-AV2 forum here?

Thanks in advance!

G’day mate! 😁

Sorry - can’t help ya w that unit - actually never even heard of it. But chances are that this is the forum category to post in.

I’m not aware of a sticky post about searching the forum (though there’s likely to be; the guys that set this place up are brilliant, and quite thorough!).
But it’s very much like searching any other website: click on the little “magnifying glass” icon up in the header bar, and type in your inquiry/keywords.

But – for what it’s worth (and based on my familiarity with Tascam equipment in general) – it sounds to me like you need to review the settings options in your manual to enable the inputs you’re trying to use, in the way you’re trying to use them (assuming that the gear will accommodate it).

Good luck!

@Rickcl87, welcome to the forums.
This site doesn't have a forum dedicated to the FR-A2. It's been on the market for less than one year, and products similar to the FR-A2 are discussed in the "Hand Held and Field Recorders" forum that shredd linked to above.

Unfortunately, the FR-A2 is so new that I only came across one thread in "Hand Held and Field Recorders".

The good news is the forum has at least 3 members (including you) using the recorder who can discuss it and share ideas. :)

Thanks shredd, I've exhausted the manual - asking for help on forums is my last option, not my first. I'll check-out that Hand Held and Field Recorders forum.
