DP-32SD channel A not recording

That's GREAT news - and thanks for the follow-up (which helps future searchers with similar problems)! And good news that it saved you the expensive repair.
Sorry that the Euro-chemicals took your lettering off - who would've seen that coming? - but good to hear it worked for you.
I haven't used it (yet) - but I have heard NOTHING but glowing reviews of the real DeOxit stuff. It's very pricey, but apparently worth every nickel.
And - FWIW - it's my recollection that most such chemicals DO have that warning in that microscopic print on the label - "test in an inconspicuous place"...

And - FYI: "a bag of pucks" is a pro-hockey metaphor for something of little value...meaning if you bet someone a bag of pucks (and are certain of winning the bet) - it's not going to cost them much...

(b) The next possibility is the light burned out.
There is a test mode for the DP series that lights all the LEDs to check them. I don't recall how to put it into test mode but if there is any doubt about any LED, that will tell the tale.
