I turned on my DP-24 today and suddenly the monitor level control is not functioning.
Powered up as always, put on my headphones and hit play expecting the same level I left it at last night and it blasted like full blast. It now seems like it just slightly works but not the way it should.
Any ideas or thoughts? The channel fader and stereo master fader are working normally.

Scott, I would first connect to a computer via USB and backup everything on the SD card. Then, format the SD card in the DP-24, and then copy everything back to the SD card from the computer and try a test play.

If the problem still happens, I'd reinstall the current firmware (1.14) from the Tascam site (http://tascam.com/product/dp-24/downloads/), following the procedure on the version notes.

If neither of these changes the issue, you're ruled out the software, so you'd be looking at hardware, most likely the monitor volume potentiometer, which would need to be cleaned or replaced.

Try the two software options first, as there's a good chance that will restore your DP-24 to normal operation.

Scott, It could be your monitor selection -make sure it set for stereo out and eff1 or eff2, sometimes it something simple.

Thanks, guys, the problem seems to be gone. A software situation I think. I for sure had the monitor selection set properly. When I got back to it I was thinking "factory reset" like I would with one of my synths, well, obviously there is nothing like that, except, I reset the preferences back to default, and, monitor level works as it should again. Not sure the reset even did anything or if it just sort of fixed itself. If the problem re-occurs I will try the firmware reinstall route.
