DM4800 cooling fan

Hey Jarno,
I'm wondering if my fan is actually working. Top of the board gets very hot and i've been having some errors which i am told could relate to overheating.
Whats involved in getting to it? Is it a difficult task?

If you look at the 2SeeMy instructions its not many screws to open yourself and you don't even have to unplug any cables to just take a peak. I installed my 2SeeMy with pretty much all my cabling still intact.

That depends on your access to the sides of the board. Mine is sitting 'between' my desk, so to speak, so I had to remove it and thus disconnect everything..

Mine is simply sitting on a table but I'm a bit nervous bout opening. Might take an engineer type with me to take a peek. There are absolutely of cables connected to the back. Hoping to open it without removing any of them. Just wanna check if the fan is working. Occasional errors I am getting sound overheating related..

I can understand your apprehension but it doesn't require an engineer to open up and peek. As Arjan said, if you have access to sides then you shouldn't need to unplug anything just to check to see if the fan is running.

I'll check this out. Redbus made a number of suggestions as to why I got a couple of error messages and a second engineer suggested thermal issues today when i described symptoms...worth checking out
