So I bought a DR40x last week and have been using its overdub feature to record vocals on the go, super handy to be able to drag-and-drop an instrumental track onto the SD and bring the studio with you in your pocket.

This morning, I imported my recordings from the SD onto the computer and now when I am in "overdub" recording mode my DR40x won't playback audio files from the SD... This happens both while recording and in the home/playback screen...

this seems like a bug because I can't imagine why you would want to overdub a track without being able to hear the source file....?

The gain meter displays that audio is playing from 1/2 input file while in overdub re mode but the sound does not come out, int or ext speakers..

The internal speaker refuses to turn on as well, despite checking the option in both the Quick Menu while in Playback Control and from the main "Menu"--no luck.

When I shift the device into stereo recording mode, all files playback as normal and I am able to turn on the internal speakers without a hitch...

PLEEAAASEEEEEE HEEEELLLLLLLPPPPP MMEEEEEEEE I am ripping my hair out >:(

aight I almost deleted this post for embarrassment but feel like its probably a good one to leave up for all the noobs like myself out there. hopefully this save someone some time:

GO INTO THE MIXER, MAKE SURE LEVELS ARE TURNED UP FOR TRACK 1/2 -.-
