Tascam DM 4800
Hi guys! I regret 3 years ago selling my board...Now I have the chance of rebuying my board. But I wonder -can one use Windows 10 with Tascam DM 4800?

Yep, all works fine, except if you want to cascade two boards. See the second 'stickied' topic in this forum - first post updated to reflect current status.

and that Windows cascade issue may be a Steinberg cubase issue. Have not tested cascade with another DAW.

Hello. I just recently purchased a DM4800 after owning one quite a few years back and loving it. When I go to the tascam web site to dowlload the firewire card drivers setup file I get an error message saying: This program can only be installed on versions of windows designed for the following processor architectures
x86

Here is my computer information:
Organization WORKGROUP

Edition Windows 10 Home

Version 1511

OS Build 10586.420

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60 GHz 3.60 Ghz

Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 usable)

System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Pen and touch No pen and touch is available for this display

My processor says it is an x64 based processor and not an x 86 based processor. Do you think I need to change my processor to be compatable and if so is it a big deal. Not sure about computer electronics. Also doing so will it limit my ram back to 8 GB.
Thank you for any help to get me up and running with my existing sytem. Much appreciated. I'll be running cubase 7.5 and also Protools 11.

Please read the sticky on Windows 10 compatibility in this forum. First post has very specific information. Also read the sticky with the FTP site info to get to the latest FireWire beta driver that you should be using for best performance. Once you use the latest driver, you may not get that error message but if you do, this problem is usually resolved by running the executable file in compatibility mode (Windows 7 usually works).
