I have some prerecorded tracks in ableton I’d like to send into the model 12 for its post comp/eq processing for mastering. If someone could give me a basic rundown on running the ableton tracks into the mixer then back into ableton to be re-recorded on a new track with the model 12’s processing, I’d appreciate it.
I’ve done this in the past by multitrack recording into the daw using the usb interface in the model 12, mixing in the daw, then recording the master in ableton onto a new track with the model 12 as an out(?). I just can’t remember if I did anything differently that allowed it to happen cause I can’t get it to work now. The tracks are just re-recording in ableton without any tascam processing. I’ve seen people saying the audio needs to be recorded in the tascam to do this, which these current tracks were not, but I figured that applies to standalone use.
I seemed to have the audio running through tracks 12/13 (main) at one point, but with extreme phase, which was also present when I tried running the main outs of the model 12 into a separate interface. I needed to do neither of these things to get it to work last time.
TLDR, I’m trying to run ableton audio into the mixer then back into ableton to be re-recorded within the daw for mastering.
