Just started using the above 4-track again. It has been sat for a while, and I don't remember it making this sound when I used it a few years ago.
Basically on playback, there is a loud click every 0.5 or 0.75 seconds. Playback itself is fine apart from this. It gets faster and slower when I mess with the pitch control / motor speed. I can feel the click through the case of the machine when I touch it.
I reluctant to start pulling it apart, but I want to know if this is a "don't worry, they all do that after a while", or a "it's about to explode" issue.
