New LCD display from Tascam

I was just on Tascam's site and stopped into the store as I always do just to see what the availability of LCD screens is. Have the changed (hopefully improved!) the screen? It now says replacement LCD display for DM 3200, DM 4800. No longer compatible with DM-24 or SX-1. Is that new? Hopefully they improved the screen and it will last longer now!

Oh, and by the way, it's still on back order as always.

Not aware of improvements. I bought one in the last 3 months and they are the same model. As mentioned many times before, LCD's always shows as back ordered. Please call their parts department as they have them in stock.

The problem was never really with the screen, it's with the airflow (or lack of airflow is more accurate) issues within the units, the heat has nowhere to go and it heats up the screens to the point where the interface cracks. A few people have done mods to their consoles that fixed the airflow issues and haven't had another screen fail yet (dig around on here, there's at least one post that shows how they did this). With my older DM24 when I had it repaired the first time around they installed an additional fan into mine that helped the issue (but didn't resolve it). The second screen lasted many years before it failed so it certainly helped the issue.
