Model 12 - Issues with Windows audio ONLY

Hello,

I purchased my Model 12 a few years back. In terms of functionality as a mixer / recorder, and its fantastic performance and sound quality in Ableton I am very satisfied.

However, I have a significant issue with windows audio only, I am on windows 10. I am using the latest firmware and drivers for the mixer.
Consistently windows audio will stop, YouTube will freeze, Spotify will no longer play, any saved audio will not play, etc. Like the driver crashed.

Going to windows audio settings and attempting to change any setting related to the model 12 in the sound devices panel instantly crashes all windows audio.

The only fix is restarting the computer, but another failure is inevitable and typically occurs within the first hour or less of using windows.

I have no problems in terms of recording and playback on Ableton. It works perfectly and never crashes never freezes. Even when windows audio refuses to work, ableton continues.

I've tried different usb-c cables, resetting the mixer, different computers, reinstalling software / firmware, all with no results. I am at a standstill, and I cannot find anyone else online with this specific issue. I've read a lot of people fixed similar issues with another cable, but this has not been a solution for me. I know there are specific types of usb-c cables, and a good amount of them, but every kind I have purchased or had the option to try has not fixed this issue.

I don't own one of these front-of house mixers, but I'm pretty sure this issue has surfaced in the Model 24/16/12 forum of this site.

A search term like "windows audio" in the Model 24/16/12 forum should get results.

@dungen Welcome to the Tascam Forums.

It doesn't matter if you're using a "Front-of-House mixer" or a dedicated studio console and interface - if the Windows machine is not properly tweaked and configured for audio, there are going to be issues. @BazzBass shared this with us some time ago:
