Model 12: Can The EQ Section be Bypassed?

I feel really silly asking this, but I've searched for the past 6 hours and can't find an answer anywhere. My issue is this... I'm running Bias FX for my tone, so I'm going out of the Scarlett Solo Out's into the Model 12 input I'm recording on and I' can't seem to find a way to bypass the EQ section to keep it from coloring my Bias FX tone. I'm sure I will use the EQ to tweak a little after recording, however I like the tone I have coming directly out of the Scarlett and it's getting altered by the EQ. I have looked for a way to bypass the section for hours to no avail, so the best I've been able to do is set all the dials at 6:00 but even then it's changing the tone it seems. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

You need to set the EQ at 0 (zero) not 6 o'clock. The EQ is +/- (boost and cut) so, the center is off.

Not totally clear on your chain of signal?

Why not skip the Scarlett and just use the Model 12 as your sole interface?

Use Channel 1 Mic in, and the effect send (using an insert TSR Y cable) to your BiasFX, then route the Channel 1 return signal to the DAW via USB and SD simultaneously, and you can then choose to set the send to both pre compressor (basically uncolored), post compressor or postEQ. And that way ya’ get two copies to boot- allowing you to prelim mix “in the Model12 box”....saving the DAW work for later.

You can choose to have your signal recorded pre or post compressor and or equalizer.
Pre is default.
Have a look on page 53 in the manual.

Firstly let me say I hadn't slept in about 24 hours at the time I posted the question, now that that's out of the way I have to admit that I was thinking 12:00 position, I guess I was just tired, or maybe I'm just too used to digital clocks lol. Thanks for your help!

Yes, thank you for that. Part of why I was specific at all about the signal chain was because I knew it probably wasn't the best way to run it and figured someone would point out a better way so thank you! I gotta admit although I've only had the unit for a few days it's making me feel like an idiot because I expected it to be like an old porta studio which I used a lot back in the day, but those didn't have half of the features this has so I never did any channel routing etc... and now having to figure all that out has been embarrassingly difficult. I am a little confused on your response though because I was going to try it but then realized I'm not sure how I go from the Model 12 out to the Bias FX because the Bias FX is software on the pc. I do have the C type USB plugged in but I don't believe it helps in that way. Can you be more specific maybe dumb it down a little lol. Either way, thanks a lot for your input it is greatly appreciated!

That's pretty much me, all the time, lol.

See manual page 45 for adjusting send point. Also if you set EQ to center it should have no effect. Finally, make sure you aren't routing through master EQ, which (unlike channel EQ) DOES have a physical bypass switch if you need it (though you shouldn't be routing through it anyway unless something is plugged in or set wrong, still it's worth saying.)

That said:

"the Bias FX is software on the pc."

I don't get it.

So you want to take a signal, digitize it, send into the pc, process there using Bias FX, come out of the pc, and then record to the SD card, on the Model 12?

Why aren't you just using the 12 as an interface and recording directly on the PC with a DAW?

Alternatively, why not just record dry to SD card and process w/ bias FX later, after you copy over from the SD card?

The whole point of SD card recording is that you don't have to hook up a DAW--but if you're literally using one anyway, I don't get why you wouldn't just use it for both.
