Mix-Down Mix-Up

Hello, again, folks! I'll try and keep this short...

Struggling with this Model 12, of which I am beginning to question the value of for my needs.

I read here about how you can create a mix and then swap that mix with another free track. So, I just attempted to "mix down" my drum tracks — on 7/8 & 9/10 — to 11/12 (which I have no idea where they exist on this unit) with intentions to "swap" into 9/10.

Now, when I play back my song, Track 1 — which has my rhythm guitar on it — sounds muffled. Upon solo'ing that track, I can hear faint drums on it. Sighhhh....

Is my Track 1 ruined, or am I hearing some ghostly sub-mix of the drums coming through from somewhere? Why would track 1 be effected by what I just did with 7/8, 9/10, and 11/12?

Anyone have any idea what I did? Why am I hearing drums and bass in that channel? It's like this machine created a mix onto channel 1— even though I didn't initiate any sound to be sent to channel 1.

SMH....
