LUBRIPLATE 105 vs cheap o-ring/faucet grease for Porta02, Porta03 and 488MKII mechanism

I found here @SkywareTDR mentioning about using LUBRIPLATE 105 for the plastic parts and AMSOIL W20-30 for the metal bearings.

Here in Japan, LUBRIPLATE costs the double of an ordinary O-ring/faucet lubricant grease. Does it really make difference? I don't mind paying this much if there's really a good reason for it.
