First thing to check is the cable itself, could be badly seated (At either end - PC or DM), or simply a bad cable. If you have some other FireWire gear, check it with that to see if it is working properly. (Even new cables can be defective)

Also, if you are using a FireWire PCI or PCI express card, sometimes the computer case itself might be preventing the cable from seating all the way in (The bars in-between slots on the back could be the problem.)The FireWire card itself might be badly seated in the motherboard, too, or turned off if you are using an integrated FW port.

In any event, judging from your screen grabs, it appears to be installed properly in the board, so I would start working my way back from there.

I could not upgrade any firmware using Windows 7 and had to use an old XP laptop to do it. Try that. Also make sure you're using the legacy Windows OHCI FireWire drivers which is documented several times in the forum. Lastly confirm what chipset your FireWire card uses. Not all are compatible with the MKII and experiences vary even when using recommended chipsets.

Thanks for answering. When I change the controller legacy mode, the control panel if fw mkii stop showing the compatibility of the chipset. I changed firewire cables and the problem continues.

It may be compatibility problem pci?

Thank you.

I don't see a screen shot of the IF/FW-MKII ASIO control panel

As you see in the control panel leaves nothing , since restarting the computer installation if not continuous fw mkii having no communication with the computer .
It may be that my pci is not compatible ?
You could tell me some supported model ?
Thank you

There might be something wrong with the firewire chipset on you're mkII board, did you unplug power in both ends before plugging/ unplugging you're firewire cable? I had mine fixed two times because the chipset died. First one because I had my pc running, second time because I apparently have to unplug my pc power (and to be totally safe I hold the power button in to empty the caps in the psu). In Germany there is a company called triplex service. They can fix it, if its the chipset. But reading you're messages brings bad memories to my mind :-/

Can you try with another firewire card or even better, an entirely different computer and firewire card?

I 'll buy a pcie card and so see if the problem is solved.
Which model should I buy pcie card with win 7 ?

Let me add from my signature the SYBA 1394A/B Texas Instruments chipset based PCI Express card that works perfectly.
On the subject of FIreWire card compatibility with the DM4800, over the years I've used VIA and TI chipsets, be they PCI, PCIe, or even integrated Gigabyte, MCI, ASUS, Motherboard FW ports without issue, Legacy Mode or not. I've actually found the DM4800 to be hassle free in that regard. My RME gear, on the other hand, prefers TI based scenarios.

Just a thought, but it might be helpful to have a more complete idea of your setup, MB specifically, and whether or not you have any other FW devices feeding off the same port as the mixer. They typically do not like that in my experience.

Best practice is use legacy mode on the OHCI driver. I lost count how many times I've duplicated issues when using the standard drivers using various workstations and firewire cards. Will it work if you don't use the legacy driver? Yes but there is a performance hit which results in reported dropouts on the IF/FW-MKII control panel. Others on the forum have also reported the same. Regardless, this debate has nothing to do with the fact that you can't connect via FireWire. Try another card or another card/PC to rule out a damaged MKII first.

Hello , I had to take the card service. I bought the used card and firewire connection was broken. The former owner had connected backwards. Everything is solved now. Thank you

Anyone knows where can i service the Firewire card in the US?
