Can anyone help me? Can’t seem to find out.
I have a mix from my Model and want to record at a specific point in the mix with my piano.
Each time it will start recording only on 0:00.

@Jimlin, I don't own a DR40x, but maybe I can susse out the mistake you're making if you provide more specific information.

For starters:
* How did you get the stereo(?) mix from your Model (24?) onto your DR40x?
* Do you have free tracks on the DR40x after importing the mix?
* Does the owner manual point out any particular things to be aware of when doing overdubs?

If you can describe the steps in the DR40x owner manual you've been following for punch-in recording, and point me to where in theR40x owner manual I can find those steps so I can follow along, maybe we can figure it out.

Thank you.
The manual doesn’t say anything about punch in, only overwrite mode but that removes all the current audio.
I import a mix from my model by putting the sd card from the model into the dr40. Then I switch to overdub mode but I can only overdub from the beginning point. I can’t start recording somewhere in the middle of the track.

"Punch In" and "Overdub" usually refer to the same thing.

It would be useless if the process required a complete re-performance of the track, overwriting everything that's already been recorded, instead of overwriting only the part being overdubbed between the punch-in/out points.

But if the owner manual is silent on how to do that, I've got nothing to go by.

Perhaps a DR40x owner will have a workaround and be kind enough to join the thread and share.
