Forgive me, please, if this is covered elsewhere; I didn't find anything but I wasn't sure what to call it.
I've had my DR-07x for a while, using it to record lessons and practice sessions. Most of the time, I just listened through the built-in speaker, as that was sufficient at the time.
Today, however, I decided to plug in some headphones. In every recording, I hear what I can best describe as the sound of a distant helicopter in every recording. As soon as the recording starts, in the silence you hear p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p, if those would be sixteenth notes at a quarter=60bpm. The pulsing continues through the recording.
I've never dropped it, I've babied it, and haven't even used it all that much.
It's currently set to:
mp3 192k
48k sample
type: mono
size: 2G
mic power: on
low cut: off
pre rec: off
auto tone: off
tone secs: 1 sec
tone vol: -18dB
auto rec mode: off
level: -12dB
Most of the recording is of bagpipes, so there's a volume issue, possibly? But the helicoptering starts from the get-go.
Any thoughts? I'd really like to be able to record without the pulsing.
Thanks, in advance!!
