Hi there!

Had a look through the forum but cannot find a thread on this specific problem.
When I try and load a song I've been working on from the 'Song List' it gives me a ERROR 'File Error' message.
In the 'Song List' the SIZE next to the song is blank (Songs above and below it have their MB size entered). When I connect the Tascam to a laptop via USB I can see the song in the MUSIC folder. In the song folder all the ZZ WAV files are listed (0001-0072) and also a mastered version of the song I already mixed down.

Does anyone know why I cannot load the song on the Tascam and why there appears to be no tracks saved?

Alternatively, is there a way I can use the ZZ files to rebuild the song considering they wouldn't be synched up?

I have the latest firmware and an approved SD card.

Hope that all makes sense (!) and thanks.

If you have downloaded all tracks on the computer you should be able to listen to the separate files. But among the "zzzz" files you will not know what is what. It can be old takes of the same channel. The mastered file is the one with the song name.wav. Otherwise maybe you could try with another memory card in the Tascam, and load the files back to that.

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately the ZZ files don't sync up. Probably because I have redone parts on the same track so it separates each edit into different ZZ files. Each starting at 00:00 even though it might be in the middle of the song. I guess in theory I could piece them all together but this would take a heck of a long time! Guess it's start from scratch and hope it doesn't happen again. I have now backed up all the other songs on the SD card just in case!

Have you browsed through the Equipment Tips sticky for possible solutions?

Likely fixable if only one or a few of the zz files are corrupted.

If either of the sys files are toast, I'm afraid you're out of luck.
