DM-3200
I'm having trouble getting my DM-3200 to work using the analog timecode in jack on the back. I've tried everything I can think of multiple times but can't get it to work.

I have the TC In jack connected to a MOTU Midi Express XT. From the XT, I generate timecode using their software. I set the frame rates to match, and in the automation setup page on the DM-3200, I choose "TC IN" as the option for sync source. Never works! Any ideas?

Can you send the time code as MTC from the motu to one of the DM's MIDI Inputs? Just curious if it works in that scenario.

I wish. No, I can't, because I'm using Ableton - which does not send MTC

I'll never understand why people chose to use software or external MTC when the board sends out MTC perfectly clear.

I want to use a track on Ableton (which does not support MTC at all) that sends SMPTE to the Tascam so I can use its automation.

I'm sorry, but you're wrong/ incorrect. Ableton DOES accept MTC when you click on the EXT button. You need to check the preferences and make sure you have properly set up you controls.

I don't have time to do an instructional video for this, but it's too easy to make happen. MTC from the DM, press EXT in Ableton and time flows nicely.

Well look at that, it does indeed work. Thanks!
