Happy to report there are no issues with the DM3200 and Cubase 8.5.

If you find any issues be sure to report them on the Steinberg forum ASAP as 8.5.10 Beta-1 is out now for Dev's so there could be time to get identified issues fixed in the next maintenance release.

Yep I know there is a VCA fader audio issue that carried over from 8.0. Was told it will be fixed in 8.5.10. At least they didn't break the Mackie Protocol like they did the last time.

I don't have the release notes handy right now but in the 8.0.35 update due out soon, there is mention of VCA fixes. 8.5.10 update not likely this month.

Great thanks for the update!

Thanks Charlie and Audiowave. I'm planning to upgrade to 8.5 after skipping C8, so it's good to know things look OK.

I'm still happily on 6.07. I love pure stability.

Stability is a function of many variables such as your host computer, it's components and how you use it. What is stable of one user is unusable for another.

There is no evidence or reason to believe that Cubase 6.07 is more stable than v8.5.0 (or soon to be released 8.5.10) and many of the newer features in 8.5 from v6 are helpful and desired. Hoping to see them and more included in Nuendo 7.5 by next Spring.

You don't lose your capability of using v6 when your upgrade to 8.5 and they both co-exist.

I agree with both sides:

Jamsire - "Don't fix if it's not broke". If the software already satisfies your current requirements, why spend the money to upgrade and risk introducing instability on your system?

AudioWave - Totally agree in respect to many variables dictate stability. I've experienced it myself with hardware being the culprit. You can see more evidence if you visit the Steniberg forums. Experiences can range from instability/unusable to others having no issues.

Ya, I do go to the Steinberg forums every once in a while and note the popular issues of the day. Like most DAW forums, it is riddled with complete idiots & newbies with the majority having "1-of" non common issues that could be as much a Steinberg issue as a user error.

@AudioWave Yep and some of the things people complain about are borderline ridiculous. They spend more time looking for and complaining about bugs than making music.

Well, I simply use Cubase as a recorder. I do very simple edits and no plug ins. The only feature I need is stability in recording without issue, and I get that. I never need more than 32 tracks and I love my console. Just a happy fellah.

Still love my console too Jamsire. Enough that I have 2 Dm3200's lol.
Even though I have more console than I will ever need with 2 DM3200's, I still envy the DM4800's fat channel!
