First off I am new posting here. Hi! Everybody!! I read the stickies and have watched the videos. I have done a search of the forums, and the reason I am posting is because I would like to do an upgrade on my Tascam DP-24 SD. I would like to swap in some Burr Brown pre’s, better op-amps, do some coupling and de-coupling to get better over all sound. Would like a better sounding DAC for the headphones. A couple of questions here: Can it be done? Has anyone tried this with good results? Any suggestions that may hinder these modifications (besides cash and abilities)? I appreciate any responses and hopefully I can provide some good feedback if I can make this happen.
Thanks

I doubt anyone has done that, and I can't see any reason to do that. I mean, the Tascam is what it is. Good quality sound for the money. I suggest either you use it like it is, or you buy a DAW interface of higher quality and record on a computer.

They are all chips. Throughout my career I have upgraded chips and caps. Sure, it can be done. Whether or not it's worth it depends upon your expectations and economics.

you'd get better results buying a top end pre amp, but I like a project, if you decide to try this, plenty of pics please :)
