I've just bought a DP-008EX, secondhand of course.
I used a friend's cassette "Portastudio" type of machine years ago to record my warblings. Not even sure what make it was but it did a fair job considering the mics were of dubious quality, as was the acoustic guitar I was using. It wasn't good enough to make me sound like John and Paul, but I enjoyed it.
So fast forward over 40 years and here I am looking to do it all again. I am more of a vocalist who happens to play a bit of guitar. My wife plays percussion and we perform as a duo or trio with a friend who plays guitar far better than I do..!
I want to use the Tascam for recording our gigs but mainly for creating backing tracks for when we gig as a duo. I had a taster of using a DAW but decided it wasn't for me.
Looking forward to getting involved.
