Any way to perform a Source Invert via a button?

Hi All,

Does anyone know if there's any way to assign a Source Invert to a physical button? Alternatively, is there any way to invert 24 channels at the same time to their alternative source? Having to use go to the Routing screen, then selecting which group of eight channels to invert, moving the cursor to the bottom left, and then on top of that, only being able to invert 8 channels is a pain. There should be a better way somewhat akin to a full flip as we had on analog mixers.

Thanks!

I don't think there's exactly the full flip function you mean, but the next best thing would be mixer scenes, IMO. I use them in a similar way: from a recording scene (28x analog/ADAT inputs) to a mixing scene (32x IFFW + external outboard).

Hi Arjan,

That's a good suggestion -- thanks! These desks are so flexible that I really like mine (a DM-4800). But because of all that flexibility, I'm never sure what I might be missing, or in this case, even forgot to consider this alternate approach as a solution.

One more question: Can any CF card be used in the desk, or if not, what are the restrictions? I remember something about them needing to be able to tolerate higher temperatures and also that they can't be too large, but have been unable to find where I had read that. I want to get two more and am not sure what I need to get or from where.

Thanks again,

Jerry

When I first got the board I tested several CF cards I had, and most worked. Those cards I still have available, but in practice it turns out I never take the (original) card out. It simply never fills it up with scenes, since I backup all current scenes to the PC via TMC and then keep them there, together with finished projects. The ones on the CF card then are deleted, and the card cover (and card contacts!) are never touched.

I didn't realize that TMC facilitated backup to PC. I haven't been running it. I have 2 22" monitors and they're filled with my DAW screens, so I haven't found TMC all that helpful or valuable. I'll go back and check it out again. Thanks much!
