AD converter to DM3200 digital input

The DM only supports up to 96kHz. You'll have to match & sync both the DM and your A/D converter to the same sample rate. The S/PIDIF Out of the converter would go to the S/PDIF In on the DM. For monitoring you'd pick 2 input channels on your DM and change from M/L to DIGI 1 -L & R. On the Output Slot tab make sure you route these 2 channels over firewire to your DAW.

Ok, so no go on those ad modules. Thanx for the answer :) I'm gonna continue searching for some simple L/R AD converters that'll work with my DM :)

Not sure what else your searching for. This is how it works for "simple" L-R A/D converters. It's how I sometimes use my Apogee Rosetta 200 which is also my dedicated D/A converter. What's nice about the Rosetta is that through either the BNC wordclock or S/DPIF connection, it automatically switches to whatever sample rate the DM is configured to (unlike say Tascam's DA-3000 which gives an annoying mismatch error for each mismatched speed you cycle through until its matched).

I'm just looking for a cheap way to convert an analog stereo signal into digital and use one of the digital in. I have an old Roland M-12e mixer setup with som synths. All other inputs on my mixer is used for other stuff, so figured if I could use one of the digi inputs with a cheap AD converter :)

I explained you how to do that and how to record that signal to your DAW as well with a simple 2 channel A/D converter. You can also expand your analog inputs via TDIF and a MOTU interface or you can purchase the DM's analog expansion card for 8 additional analog in's and out's. Search the forum for that discussion.

Yep you told me the DM supports up to 96khz, as I understand the unit in my link, outputs at 192khz so assume the DM wont "understand" that signal, in other words wont work with that. I know the routing, and how to get it out the firewire, to my daw :)

You can't route a 192khz signal through the DM. Better converters that advertise 192kHz typically support all standard speeds leading UP TO 192khz. Does the unit you referenced only output at 192kHz?? If so that's not going to work.

So I need to firgure out if the unit supports up to og if it only transmits at 192khz I might have to ask the seller about that :)
Once again thank you for helping me out here :)

I actually thought about buying one of those, and since you reccomend it I might consider it twice :) I've got a Presonus digimax fs which has 8 analog outputs, I could connect these directly into the if-an/dm and then use my adat on the DM with my ada8000. Hmmmm.. so many choices :)

The analog expansion card is the most elegant and integrated way to get 8 additional analog I/O with your DM. Can't beat it.
